Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano - COMING IN 2008

Named after Ferrari's infamous test track, the 599 replaces the 550/575 Maranello and offers more interior space and power than its predecessors. It has a completely aluminium chassis as opposed to steel.

The 599 still has the same front engine V12 layout which was reintroduced by Ferrari in the 550/575 Maranello line. It has a longer chassis – but to make up for this it uses a 6.0 litre engine which has been engineered from the engine in the Enzo supercar that can reach 612 HP and 8400 rpm. This makes this 599 the most powerful front engine Ferrari produced. Added to this, the “F1-Superfast” transmission can change gears in 100ms. This is just behind the 80ms FXX and 30ms Formula One unit but a massive improvement from the older roadcar systems which changed in 250ms.

The GTB's styling seems to mimic its larger 4-seat brother, the 612 Scaglietti. Both were designed at the same time and share a common interior, as well as similar front end designs. But unlike the 612, the 599 has an entirely new roof line and much tidier rear end treatment.

This car has to be driven to be believed. Coming in 2008.
